Earth Physics - Centre for Advanced Data Inference

Computing Facilities

The Center operates a cluster of 128 PC's linked by a Gigabit ethernet network. Each PC contains a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 processor, 1 Gb of 1066 MHz memory and a 40 Gb hard drive. This cluster, named TerraWulf, is ideally suited for computationally intensive problems that depend on fast access to memory but do not rely on fast inter-processor communication. The cluster is managed by Jean Braun and Malcolm Sambridge

The cluster is available to all collaborators/partners. Time may be obtained by request to the Centre (Malcolm Sambridge). Usage is managed by a web-based scheduling system. Note that to be run on the cluster, applications have to make use of the Neighbourhood Algorithm (NA), or to be demonstrably tuned for efficient processing on a cluster of fast workstations linked by a Gigabit ethernet network.

Follow this link to read more about the procedure to access the TerraWulf cluster.

Existing Software

The Center provides access to a suite of software, including parallel inversion, finite element solvers, wavefront trackers, landform evolution simulation, and more. Details of which can be found here.
