Tomoeye

Tomoeye is a software package for interactive visualization, analysis and presentation of tomographic models. It was developed by Alexei Gorbatov (JAMSTEC, Japan), Ajay Limaye (VizLab, ANU Supercomputer Facility) and Malcolm Sambridge (Research School of Earth Sciences, ANU). It consists of a set of four Matlab programs which allow multi scale tomographic models to be examined in Cartesian or spherical coordinate systems; data subsets can be extracted and combined; publication quality figures produced; and Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) models produced for 3-D visualization and publication on the world-wide-web. We hope this type of freely available software package will encourage the distribution of tomographic models in a standardized form for independent peer review by the research community.

Future developments of Tomoeye

The authors of this software are looking at the possibility of converting the MATLAB package to an open source platform such as SCILAB. We can only justify the resources required to do this if there is sufficient demand in the community. If you would like to see Tomoeye running on the SCILAB platform, or you have any other suggestions for improvement, then please email Alexei Gorbatov and tell him.
