The 2017 RSES Field Camp is in full sway, in the highly deformed and metamorphosed eclogite-blueschist terranes on the island of Sifnos, in the Cycladic archipelago, Aegean Sea, Greece.
The students are from the RSES 2017 MPhil and Masters cohort. They are being trained in the rudiments of geological form surface mapping, working at a scale of 1:5000 in areas of near perfect outcrop. This provides valuable "core skills" training.
They will be on the rocks for 20 days, returning at the end of September.
