Prof Ross Griffiths will travel to the American Physical Society (APS) - Division of Fluid Dynamics (DFD) Annual Meeting in San Francisco this weekend, where he will be presented as an APS Fellow. Election to APS Fellowship is a recognition of outstanding contributions to physics, and commemorates Prof Griffiths' career contributions across many branches of fluid dynamics. The citation for Prof Griffith's Fellowship Certificate is:
"For pioneering experiments and theoretical analysis in geophysical fluid dynamics, including ocean modelling, earth mantle convection and lava flows, and for scientific leadership and service to the fluid dynamics community."
Prof Griffiths attends the APS-Division of Fluid Dynamics meeting each year and this year he will give a presentation on the behaviour of turbulent convection.
