Research Interests

• How crustal fluids affect deformation processes, particularly in faults and shear zones; the research is examining implications for nucleation and recurrence of earthquakes, and at a larger scale, crustal strength.
  
  
• How the dynamics of episodic fault slip, interseismic fault sealing and accompanying changes in fault permeability can influence the dynamics of ore deposition via fluid pressure fluctuations, fluid mixing and fluid-rock interaction during the genesis of precious metal ore deposits in tectonically active settings.


• The development of networks of faults, fractures and shear zones during progressive deformation, and the role fault/fracture/shear zone connectivity plays in controlling the architecture of fluid flow and distribution and timing of ore genesis during crustal deformation.
