Dongqin Yin got her bachelor’s degree from Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Tsinghua University. Then she acquired a doctoral degree at Tsinghua University in 2015 when she was only 23 years old, and worked as an engineer in Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute during 2015-2016. Since October 2016 she joined the Climate and Fluid Physics group in the Research School of Earth Sciences as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
Her major research interest focusses on climate variability and extremes for example drought. Currently, she is investigating relationship between temperature and precipitation from both observations and theory, and try to separate drought induced warming from warming induced drought (e.g., greenhouse gas effects).
