Research Interests
The research projects that I pursue (mainly with honours and PhD students) are focused on those problems relevant to ore deposition which may help resolve through experimentation. My intention is to provide basic geochemical information of use to those interested in unravelling ore forming processes. Currently, and for the next few years, I am interested in the following general themes:
- Metal solubilities and speciation (Cu, Au, Mo) measured in synthetic and natural fluid inclusions.
- Sulfide partial melting
- The solubility of sulfur in silicate melts
- Subduction-zone fluids
- The validity of melt inclusions as monitors of igneous processes
- Experimental calibration of Cu isotopic fractionations
