Experimental facilities and laboratories

Terrawulf

TerraWulf is RSES's cluster of network-linked "off-the-shelf" PC-computers configured to give an unprecedented performance/cost ratio.

Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory

This is a purpose-built 400 sq. m laboratory for experimental fluid dynamical modelling of geophysical processes.

Seismic Stations

RSES operates two seismic stations that are linked to the Australian National Network.

Superconducting Gravimeter Site

At Mt Stromlo, we operate one of ~30 superconducting gravimeters worldwide. Highly precise measurements of changes in the Earth's gravity field can be used to learn about tidal deformation of the Earth and the structure of Earth's interior.

GPS Stations

These stations measure the present-day glacial isostatic adjustment that may be occurring in the southern Prince Charles Mountains, Antarctica.

ANSIR

The Australian National Seismic Imaging Resource (ANSIR).
