Description

Our understanding of the formation and evolution of the Solar System, Earth, planets, and life is constantly evolving through studies of variations in chemical and isotopic abundances. We take an interdisciplinary approach to better understand various aspects of planetary systems from nucleosynthetic signatures in stardust grains through the origin and evolution of the Earth's continental crust. Our main areas of research are:

  • Characterization of presolar and early solar system condensates;
  • Early terrestrial and planetary differentiation processes;
  • Origin and evolution of planetary surfaces;
  • Impact history of the inner Solar System;
  • Origin, distribution, and evolution of life throughout the Universe.
