StructureTectonicsTeam@ANU - Computer Programs Available For Download

The programs listed below are available for download, and may be freely used in any research that is not bound by any form of confidentiality agreement. In this case the only condition for their use is that the use of the programs be properly acknowledged in any publication that arises, in part or in full, as a result of their utilisation. Please cite the associated reference, if there is one provided.

If other conditions apply please contact Professor Gordon Lister to obtain a software licence.

eQuakes

eQuakes is a program designed to analyse earthquake data - such as hypocentre locations in time and space - as well as CMT data from the Global CMT project at Lamont.

QuickCMTanalyser

QuickCMTanalyser is a program designed to Quick CMT solutions. The data can be manually input, and files generated that can be transformed into kmz (zipper kml) to allow Google Earth to display geometric data associated with an individual earthquakes. The program first found practical use during the aftermath of the Padang 2009 earthquake.

Pplates

Pplates is a program for tectonic reconstruction based on deformable, tearable meshes. It is being developed as part of the AuScope NCRIS initiative.

eArgon

eArgon is a program for analysis of 40Ar/39Ar geochronological data from sequences of in vacuo step heating experiments in a mass spectrometer. eArgon automates the method of asymptotes and limits, and uses a flexible system of XML tagged data input. Example data files are provided.

Data from your own laboratory can readily be modified: to get your own unique XML tag identifier please contact Professor Gordon Lister.

MacArgon

MacArgon is a program for modelling and simulation of the effect of pressure-temperature-time paths on 40Ar/39Ar apparent age spectra. The current version is still in development, being adapted for MacOSX, upgraded from the Classic version publiished in 1996. The current version of MacArgon allows fractal variation of size-volume for up to 100 diffusion domains. The MacSpectrometer can be used to produce apparent age spectra, or bulk fusion ages. Sophisticated time-temperature variation can be input, including the use of flash-heating methodologies.
