RSES Geodynamics - Antarctic GPS Program 2001/2002
Antarctica Postglacial Rebound GPS Survey 2001/2002
Date last updated 26th January 2002
The project
Richard Stanaway from Geodynamics and Anya Reading from Seismology have
just returned from Antarctica having serviced the GPS monitoring network around
the Lambert Glacier and Amery Ice Shelf. The purpose of the network is to
monitor the vertical deformation of the Antarctic crust as a result of postglacial
rebound. Two seismometers were established at Davis and Beaver Lake and assistance was provided to the University of Tasmania's Antarctic ice sheet dynamics project
